Forest Bathing

with Gerti Schoen

Harvest Season Forest Bathing

Come and appreciate summer in its full and glorious beauty on Blue Deer’s sacred land. Harvest season has started, there is abundance everywhere, and the cricket’s concert is in full swing.

Greet summer’s bounty, and the warmth and generosity of the sun, in a place where the River of Peace provides cool and refreshing energy. We will finish the walk with cold tea and snacks.

Program

Forest bathing is a two hour long meditative walk, and just as effective (and more fun!) to calm the mind as sitting in meditation. It is a powerful way to reconnect with the more than human world, and the healing powers of the land. We will finish the walk with hot tea and snacks by the fire.

Blue Deer Center

Nestled in the Catskill Mountains on ninety three acres of land and forest, the Blue Deer Center is embraced by “Saskawhihine,” the river of peace. This land, known for millennia, as a place where conflict is resolved and illness gives way to health. Blessed things happen here that cannot happen even a short distance away, for this sacred place offers unique medicine that supports your healing and remembering your relationship to all of nature.

Testimonial

"You begin to settle into yourself. So much in our lives is empty. All this technology. Being on a mindful forest walk brings something in that's actually real. It brings peace. "
