Firekeeper Retreat by Sacred Fire

with   Don David Wiley & Annie King

Recharge, Reconnect and Learn with fellow firekeepers and teachers to deepen your essential work of cultivating Sacred Fire for your communities.

When you're sitting at the fire with people looking for help to transform their lives in the way that only Sacred Fire can provide, you deepen your realization that this can only happen as we build our skills as Firekeepers.

Three days and four nights in the embrace of this sacred land. You will be supported by the teachers David and Annie in the company of firekeepers, your brothers and sisters. You will have the gift of guidance from Grandfather Fire! This retreat is for you.

  • A place to drop into the large vision
  • To keep up with current teachings, practice facilitation skills
  • To develop more inner awareness, connection, and mindfulness as you hold space and facilitate your fires

The work of holding and facilitating the fires for our people is precious and needs all our heart and effort and openness. Don’t miss it! We need you there.

Blue Deer Center

Nestled in the Catskill Mountains on ninety three acres of land and forest, the Blue Deer Center is embraced by “Saskawhihiwine,” the river of peace. This land, known for millennia, as a place where conflict is resolved and illness gives way to health. Blessed things happen here that cannot happen even a short distance away, for this sacred place offers unique medicine that supports your healing and remembering your relationship to all of nature.

“Over the weekend I went to the retreat at the Blue Deer Center in upstate NY. It was beautiful. The mission of the BDC is to provide a home to support ancestral wisdom traditions. There are amazing trees there and a healing stream named Saskawhihiwine. She sang me to sleep every night! 19 of us Firekeepers gathered from all over North America to deepen our learning of an ancient practice. Our ancestors and the ancestors of our ancestors have gathered by the fire for ages. Doing so now in these troubling and isolating times is crucial. When sitting by the fire part of us deep inside feels the healing and connecting effects. Part of us remembers. The retreat has filled me with even more love and excitement for our community fires….The world needs this and the natural world wants this. Nature wants us to come back into balance.”

– John Huang Firekeeper from Long Beach, California, USA

While living in Mexico in the mid-’90s an apparition appeared to Don David Wiley, later to be recognized by indigenous Nahua and Huichol elders, as the Spirit of Fire who asked him
