Spring Equinox Forest Bathing

with Gerti Schoen

Do you ever feel you should be meditating, but just can’t get yourself to do it? Have you ever longed to communicate with nature more deeply but don’t know how to go about it? Then forest bathing is for you.

Spring Equinox is a day to celebrate the passing of the winter months, and to plant the first seeds of the new season – symbolically or literally. It’s been a long, cold winter, and the pandemic took a lot out of us. Spring Equinox marks a new beginning—a time of renewal and regeneration.

Forest bathing is a two hour long meditative walk. It is a powerful way to reconnect with the more than human world, and the healing powers of the land. We may still be sloshing through the slush—but the days are getting longer and the sap begins to rise. We will warm up by the fire intermittently (if needed), and finish the walk with hot tea and snacks.

Blue Deer Center

This land, known for millennia, as a place where conflict is resolved and illness gives way to health. Blessed things happen here that cannot happen even a short distance away, for this sacred place offers unique medicine that supports your healing and remembering your relationship to all of nature. Nestled in the Catskill Mountains on ninety three acres of land and forest, embraced by Saskawhihine the river of peace.
